Payment Policy

The Hard Drive accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and AMEX.

Payment must be completed before any devices may be shipped.

Shipping

The Hard Drive offers shipping via USPS or UPS.

Our UPS shipping cutoff time is 3pm CST.

USPS shipments will ship the following business day.

Returns

The Hard Drive will cover the cost of product returns if the return is due to an error we have made.

The buyer is responsible for returns for any other reason.

Device returns are accepted within the given time period, but will be subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Warranty

New Computers

The Hard Drive warranties labor on all new computer sales for 90 days past the date of delivery/pickup. New computer builds come with full manufacturer warranty on parts. After 90 days the customer will be responsible for paying labor charges for any repairs done.

The Hard Drive can process the warranty replacement with the manufacturer, but there may be an additional wait time for replacement parts to be returned by the manufacturer.

All returned merchandise will be examined before any refunds are issued. The Hard Drive does not warranty ANY items that are found to have been tampered with, modified, have breakage, or show signs of liquid damage.

If a returned item is found to be tampered with, modified, have breakage, or show signs of liquid damage NO REFUNDS will be issued, and The Hard Drive will ship the item back to the customer at no additional charge.

Refurbished Mobile Gadgets

The Hard Drive warranties all refurbished mobile gadget sales for 30 days past the date of delivery/pickup.

Mobile Gadget Repair Policies

The Hard Drive requires a $25 deposit on gadget repairs that will be applied to the final bill after a repair is completed.  If a device is not repairable, or the customer decides they do not wish to complete the repair the deposit will be taken as a diagnosis fee.

There are NO REFUNDS for repair services except in a special situation where a guarantee was stated verbally to the customer.  If a repair is performed only to find other issues not previously testable the customer is still responsible for paying for the originally agreed repair IN FULL before the device will be released back to them.

Deposits taken for devices are NON-REFUNDABLE once the device has been taken in for repair.

Warranty

Gadget repair parts come with a 30 day warranty against defects.  Warranty covers replacement parts, and any labor costs associated with the repair.

Gadget warranties DO NOT cover devices that previously displayed any type of water damage and/or corrosion.

Gadget warranties are VOID if there are any signs of physical damage, liquid damage, abuse, misuse, modification, or servicing after repair by any company other than The Hard Drive.

Expedite Fees

If you would like faster service The Hard Drive offers expedited services on mobile devices for an additional $25 fee.

This fee must be paid on device drop off. Expedite service for mobile devices guarantees your device repair begins within 60 minute of check-in.

If Items Are Damaged During Repair

The Hard Drive will check the functionality of all phone functions during check-in.

The Hard Drive is NOT responsible for parts that were unable to be tested being found defective after the repair has been performed.

In the case a part is damaged during repair, but is out of stock at the time of repair, the customer must return for repair within 10 business days of being notified the part is back in stock to claim their warranty replacement.

The Hard Drive is no longer liable for free replacement of these parts if the customer does NOT return within the 10 business day window previously stated unless an extended return period was verbally established with the customer.

The Hard Drive will cover part, and labor cost for any parts damaged that were working when the device originally came in for repair.

If damage is caused during a repair which proves irreparable, The Hard Drive will replace the customer’s device with an identical or comparable device within a reasonable amount of time.

The customer will not be charged any additional fees for a device replacement, but will be required to pay in full for the originally agreed upon service. If we are unable to acquire a replacement device within a reasonable amount of time we will pay out the used market value of the device minus the original repair price.

When Parts Are Ordered

Customers who are waiting on parts must drop off their device NO LATER THAN 4PM. If a device must be dropped after 4pm the customer may be charged an after hour’s fee of $20 if we have to stay after hours to complete the repair. NO FEE will be charged as long as the device is dropped off before 4pm.

When parts must be ordered The Hard Drive will only hold parts for 10 business days once the customer has been notified of their arrival unless a verbal agreement for an extended hold time has been made with the customer. NO REFUNDS will be provided after the 10 business day holding period.

Abandoned Items

Devices left for more than 10 business days after notification of being ready for pickup will be considered abandoned and The Hard Drive will claim ownership of the device. NO REFUNDS will be made for any parts previously paid for. This policy can change if a customer has made arrangements for an extended hold time.

Customer Personal Data

The Hard Drive is NOT liable for the data on customers devices. Customers are solely responsible for backing up any data on their device, and deleting, encrypting, or otherwise protecting data from unauthorized use. The Hard Drive is NOT responsible for data that is lost or corrupted.

Completed Repairs

After a client has been notified of completion they have 10 business days to retrieve their devices unless a prior agreement has been verbally made.

Mobile Gadget Unlock Policies

Unlock services may only be refunded if an unlock attempt was unsuccessful. An unlock in progress may not be refunded unless the unlock attempt exceeds 15 business days longer than originally estimated.

If a customer removes their adapter and it requires reprogramming to function again the customer must pay a $30 fee.

If a customer loses or damages their unlock adapter they will be responsible to pay full price for a replacement plus programming.

Computer | Console

Computer & Console Repair Policies

The Hard Drive requires a $40 deposit on every computer and game console repair that will be applied to the final bill after a repair is completed. If a device is not repairable, or the customer decides they do not wish to complete the repair the deposit will be taken as a diagnosis fee.

Deposits taken for computers are NON-REFUNDABLE once the device has been taken in for repair.

All repairs are performed on a first come, first serve basis. The typical completion time is 4-7 days from check-in not including weekends or holidays. Special parts orders, software, and client communication delays can sometimes increase the repair completion time. Rush services are available to begin work sooner, and do not include weekends or holidays.

Expedite Fees

If you would like faster service The Hard Drive offers expedited services on computers and game consoles for an additional $25 fee.

This fee must be paid on device drop off. Expedite service for mobile devices guarantees your device repair begins within 24 hours of check-in.

Warranty

The Hard Drive warranties all computer and game console hardware we replace with a 30 day warranty against failure or defects. Some hardware may include a longer manufacturer warranty that must be completed directly through the manufacturer.

Warranty DOES NOT cover water, drop, or damage from excess dust buildup. We DO NOT cover virus cleanups under any type of warranty as we are not capable of regulating the content you access.

Any physical damage, liquid damage, abuse, misuse, modification, or servicing by any company other The Hard Drive will VOID all warranty provided.

The Hard Drive is NOT responsible for clients personal data on the computer. In the case a system must be wiped we will backup, and restore personal documents, pictures, videos, and music if possible.

The Hard Drive will retain any backups made for a total of 30 days before being purged from our systems.

After a client has been notified of completion they have 10 business days to retrieve their systems unless a prior agreement has been verbally made.
